Welcome to our Meet the Tenants feature. This month we would like to introduce you to Easy Cars. Here at the Millfields Trust, we are fortunate to partner with many businesses and organisations that rent our offices and light industrial units here in Stonehouse. We know the amazing work our tenants do throughout the southwest but do you? We’ll answer that on your behalf and say no. Probably not.
But it’s time to rectify that!
Who you are and what you do?
We are a private hire taxi company called Easy Cars. It’s a family run business consisting of husband and wife Darren Burton and Sandra Burton and their sons Ben Wildman and Taylor Burton. We operate 20 – 25 drivers covering the Plymouth and surrounding areas for immediate and advance booking private hire services.
What space do you have? Which building are you in? And what do you use the space for?
We have 36 Mary Seacole Road. The office is occupied 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including public holidays. It is used predominantly as a booking office for taking calls and dispatching jobs to the drivers.
How has being a Millfield Trust tenant benefited you?
We have benefited from both a professional and well-presented working environment here at the Millfields Trust. Working with Mandy and Sadie, our needs are always met and we have never felt we are in less than capable hands. We have also benefited from various networking events that the team has held. Many of the residential tenants here at Millfields have supported our business by using us.
What does Easy Cars hope to achieve in 2022 and 2023?
We hope to continue to grow our business and maintain our status as Google’s Best Reviewed Private Hire firm in Plymouth. We hope to expand our driver roster to at least 50 drivers by the end of 2023.
If you could have one thing for your business today, what would it be?
It’s hard to say as we have a fantastic group of drivers, brilliant staff and excellent facilities all of which make our job running the company easier – some of the drivers would no doubt appreciate a vending machine in the office!
What business advice would you give to your younger self?
Just stay grounded and follow the advice of those who have been in this business and previously trodden the same route.
