One of his final acts before departing to begin the next chapter in his life, our long-serving CEO Roger attended the Lord Mayor’s Gala Dinner 2022 at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth with his wife Gill.
Roger said, “Gill and I thoroughly enjoyed the Mayor’s Gala Dinner. I know the City of Plymouth is going to be well served by two outstanding people during the next year.”
Who are the two outstanding people Roger is referring to?
Just incase you didn’t know, the Lord Mayor of Plymouth is Councillor Sue Dann. She brings quite a lot of experience to the role having served as Deputy Lady Mayoress in 2018-2019. And as Lady Mayoress in 2020-2021 when her husband Alderman Chris Mavin was Lord Mayor. Sue’s been an elected member of Plymouth City Council several times. She currently serves the Ward of Sutton and Mount Gould.
Sue says, “After the last challenging couple of years, it will be a real pleasure to connect with people from across the city. From all walks of life. I will take this opportunity to say thank you to those who make Plymouth such a lovely place to live, to work, to visit.”
The Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Chris Penberthy was born in Stonehouse and continues to live in the heart of Plymouth near the Barbican. Chris has been a Labour and Co-operative Councillor for St Peter and the Waterfront ward since 2011. He’s passionate about many things including: Plymouth Energy and The Hoe Neighbourhood Forum. He’s also a great advocate for the Millfields Trust and our on-going mission to bring positive change to the people of Stonehouse.
