We’re looking for someone to join our Training Studio as an:
Industrial Manufacturing Tutor

THE JOB ROLE
Do you have experience teaching in the fashion and textiles sector?
Do you have a broad knowledge of industrial manufacturing?
Are you a designer/maker looking to share your skills with others?
We have a really exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our
Training Studio team.
Our vision is to create jobs and provide work opportunities through our
Sampling Studio. All profits f rom this are reinvested into the provision of our
training and education programmes which also receive Grant and AEB
funding.

We are looking for someone to fulfill the following role:

1 day a week, based at Makers HQ, you will deliver our SEG Award Level
3 NVQ Diploma in manufacturing textile products. This consists of the
academic google slide based modules that support our students
currently employed in full time industrial based employment. This
structured course includes a workplace assessment to be completed at
the end of every module.
The start date for this role would be as soon as possible, and we would
aim for you to have a handover as soon as possible. We do not follow the
academic year so you will be required to work during school holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Plan and deliver lessons, in a comprehensive manner, within our industrial
studio environment;
● Provide individualised instruction to each student relevant to their
learning style;
● Develop students’ creativity and problem solving skills;
● Assess and record students’ progress through excellent formative and
summative feedback;
● Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required;
● Maintain a tidy and orderly studio;
● There may be opportunities for you to develop and enrich professional skills
with CPD courses, seminars, etc;
● Collaborate with Studio Manager, Sample Studio staff, and stakeholders,
and participate in regular meetings.

REQUIREMENTS
● To fulfill the 1 day a week role delivering our NVQ you must have significant
industry experience and a formal teaching qualification at a level 4 or
higher.
● You must hold a current enhanced DBS
● You must have significant experience in safeguarding adults, and be able to
demonstrate or undertake qualifications and training to back this
experience up
● Strong communication and computer skills;
● Excellent spoken and written English is a distinct advantage;
● The ideal candidate should be able to work on their own initiative and
commit to the role for at least one academic year if possible.
