We’re looking for someone to join our Training Studio as an:Industrial Manufacturing TutorTHE JOB ROLEDo you have experience teaching in the fashion and textiles sector?Do you have a broad knowledge of industrial manufacturing?Are you a designer/maker looking to share your skills with others?We have a really exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join ourTraining Studio team.Our vision is to create jobs and provide work opportunities through ourSampling Studio. All profits f rom this are reinvested into the provision of ourtraining and education programmes which also receive Grant and AEBfunding.We are looking for someone to fulfill the following role:
1 day a week, based at Makers HQ, you will deliver our SEG Award Level3 NVQ Diploma in manufacturing textile products. This consists of theacademic google slide based modules that support our studentscurrently employed in full time industrial based employment. Thisstructured course includes a workplace assessment to be completed atthe end of every module.The start date for this role would be as soon as possible, and we wouldaim for you to have a handover as soon as possible. We do not follow theacademic year so you will be required to work during school holidays.RESPONSIBILITIES● Plan and deliver lessons, in a comprehensive manner, within our industrialstudio environment;● Provide individualised instruction to each student relevant to theirlearning style;● Develop students’ creativity and problem solving skills;● Assess and record students’ progress through excellent formative andsummative feedback;● Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required;● Maintain a tidy and orderly studio;● There may be opportunities for you to develop and enrich professional skillswith CPD courses, seminars, etc;● Collaborate with Studio Manager, Sample Studio staff, and stakeholders,and participate in regular meetings.REQUIREMENTS● To fulfill the 1 day a week role delivering our NVQ you must have significantindustry experience and a formal teaching qualification at a level 4 orhigher.● You must hold a current enhanced DBS● You must have significant experience in safeguarding adults, and be able todemonstrate or undertake qualifications and training to back thisexperience up● Strong communication and computer skills;● Excellent spoken and written English is a distinct advantage;● The ideal candidate should be able to work on their own initiative andcommit to the role for at least one academic year if possible.FURTHER INFORMATIONTo apply for this role you need to be:● Eligible to work in the UK;● Over the age of 19.
