Through our Meet the Tenants feature we hope you’re seeing the wide variety of businesses that partner with us here at the Millfields Trust. In previous blogs, we’ve introduced you to Plymouth’s Number 1 Taxi Service, Easy Cars and Carlton Cleaning but today we’d like to introduce a very exciting business. One you might not expect to find at our Mary Seacole Building. Say hello to Plymouth’s number 1 wrestling organisation, Reach Wrestling!
Established in 2018 by Jason King and Grayson Reeves, Reach Wrestling is a professional wrestling organisation that runs live family-friendly shows across Devon and Cornwall. The main purpose is to bring fun, affordable entertainment to all families who love wrestling in the southwest. We managed to pin Jason down (See what we did there?) for a few minutes to find out more about Reach Wrestling and its coaching classes.
How are you connected to the Millfields Trust?
We’re at UNIT 10 where the old Naval Hospital used to be in the Mary Seacole Building. Our full-time Training Academy is set up there for both adults and children. We welcome new members all the time and look forward to meeting people from all backgrounds and ability levels. If you are local to Stonehouse, pop in on a Saturday morning and speak to a member of the team. We cater for all types, nobody is excluded. Some members start training just for fitness but others have much higher aspirations. They want to go all the way to America to wrestle in WWE!

How has being a Millfield Trust tenant benefited Reach Wrestling?
The location is very useful. Being able to access the unit full-time has helped the growth of our business. We’ve not had much interaction with other businesses yet so it would be great to meet some of our fellow tenants in 2022.

What do you hope to achieve in 2022 and 2023?
We managed to get 650 people into the Guildhall for a show in February 2022 so we are extremely proud of that. We’re hopeful that we can continue to expand and work with businesses in the area to generate more awareness of REACH Wrestling and the value of what we teach. Another recent show in Cornwall on the 25th June was amazing but now we look forward to the next event at Marjon University, Quad Theatre, on the 22nd of October. If you could have one thing for Reach Wrestling today, what would it be?
The ability to set up a gym space full-time alongside our in-ring training.

What’s the best, or worst business advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice was to ensure that we are reliable. We pride ourselves on making sure that we stick to our word and commit to each task to the best of our abilities. One job at a time done right. The worst advice I think I’ve received was to constantly follow the money. This doesn’t bring you happiness and although useful for sustaining growth and success, there are many other things that can bring you just as much joy if not more.
