We are excited to be involved on the planning group for this years’ biggest Plymouth Social Enterprise City Festival 2021. The festival will run for two weeks from 15th – 26th November, showcasing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and picking up themes and discussions from the COP26 to make ‘doing better’ a whole lot easier for us all.
The Millfields Trust will be hosting the launch of the Festival on Monday 15th November, we are pleased to have been able to support and host this prestigious event.
We are also excited to be bringing back the popular women’s networking event as part of the festival, in partnership with our friends at Social Enterprise Mark Trust. Our key speaker is the inspiring Amber Leach who has just launched another new business Established By Her. Amber will be taking us through her journey, highs and lows of how she has become a successful entrepreneur.
Our Mary Seacole Road site offers 3 buildings with office units and light industrial space available. These are arranged as units on the ground floor with smaller offices located above, which feature an open space gallery.
The closing event will take part at Leadworks with a celebration and networking event to wrap up the two weeks.
Every year the festival supports and enables social purpose businesses to open their doors, share their knowledge, make new connections and strengthen the sector together. This is our 12th year of running the festival, after taking it online last year due to the lockdown we are coming back with a bigger, better and more inclusive event for 2021. We want to really highlight the incredible social enterprise economy right here in Plymouth, and to create opportunities for skill sharing, inspiring, learning, socialising, connecting and profile raising. We are in the Decade of Action to rise to the challenge of meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, and we know that all businesses need to work together to create the future we all deserve. This two week event will take a look at the Sustainable Development Goals and work out how we can all take Local Action for the Global Goals. There is an opportunity to learn in everything we do and knowledge sharing is an easy way to work towards the new, more caring economy that we all crave. We need YOU to help make it happen though – #DoingBusinessDifferently
