Welcome to our Meet the Tenants feature. Here at the Millfields Trust, we are fortunate to partner with a wide range of businesses and organisations that rent our offices and light industrial units across four locations here in Stonehouse. We know the amazing work our tenants do throughout the southwest but do you? We’ll answer that on your behalf and say no. Probably not. But it’s time to rectify that! So each month we will shine a light on some of our tenants because so many of them are doing such vital work in our community that you really should know more about them. This month we would like to introduce you to the Diversity Business Incubator (DBI).
Diversity Business Incubator: What Do You Do?
Diversity Business Incubator is a community interest company passionate about elevating business success in the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities in the southwest. We offer comprehensive and sustainable business support to BAME businesses & entrepreneurs living in Plymouth, and throughout the southwest. We help our clients thrive in business but we also support them in many other ways such as integrating effectively into their wider community. It’s a really important part of what we do.
Office Space: How Do You Use It?
We are in the HQ Building on Union Street. Office 37. We use our office space for various networking events throughout the year. We host a homework support club for Plymouth Hope International. Appointments are available for individuals who require CV writing support and for new start-ups, as well as established businesses, that need help with funding applications. Our offices are always busy with meetings, open day events, training and occasional social gatherings.
How Does Being A Millfields Trust Tenant Benefit DBI?
We want to reach out, shout out! and support 20 new start-up businesses in the area in 2022 and 2023. It’s so important to celebrate the achievers in our community! We want to help make this happen and inspire the next generation in collaboration with Millfields Inspired program.
